Emo is not what it seems

Must I say a thousand times that Valley of Chrome and Urbandub are NOT... I repeat... ARE NOT emo nor emocore bands... these band's (and other misconcieved bands as well) lyrics may talk about love, heartbreak, falling in and out, etc, etc... but that does not make them instantly EMO!

I myself admit that I listen to some of these emo bands, namely thursday and the used (but basically these bands are mature whiners... hehehe) but can't seem to stand hearing dashboard songs... I mean it's not that bad to whine sometimes about something, but these two bands do not only sing of heartaches and scars, they also sing of political crisis and the like, and still they are categorized as emo bands.

So the point is that lyrics play a role in defining emo from the not so emo but in the end it's how the message is delivered. If some are still going to persist that the aforementioned bands are emo, then call britney spears, christina aguilera, justin timberlake, n'sync, backstreet boys, etc..etc.. as emo... they sing of love and failing at love too don't they?

And while you're at it think about this, emo is emotional right? Every song promotes a slew of emotions in it, be it love, hate, anger, anguish, triumph... so in the end every song is an emo song! woah! I didn't know that! ...NOT!! haha.... I hope you get my drift.. if not then go F**k yourself....
