The forceful fate...

Okay.. so mmff week is this christmas break (why oh why?!!! of all the time in the world... bakit ngayon pa?!!! eh this is the only free time for me to watch as many movies... hay buhay... so napilitan tuloy ako.. hehehehe) So I (unwillingly) watched both exodus and legal wife.... reasons why I watched...

Exodus - the hype given to it by filipino critics was so much that they even compared it to lord of the rings (violent reactions are to follow......)
Ako Legal Wife - wala lang... nainis lang kasi ako from watching fantasy movies (after watching the previous one). So I opted top watch this comedy instead.
Okay.. so start na ng katayan....
Exodus.. exodus.. exodus... well... after watching a lot of movies (during nov-dec) which gave me lot's and lot's of realization about life (exorcism of emily rose, king kong.. etc..etc...) watching exodus made me realize a few things as well...
First realization "Putcha!!" (as Lem-J says it) ang ganda ni Iya!!! syet!!! bakit ang ganda niya?!!! (but technically it's not a realization.. it's more of an affirmation really...) I mean, her character suits her well... a spirit of beauty! hanep! hehehe and she actually looks good in her costume/gown/battle wear.
Second realization... never believe in what filipino critics say... grabe nakakainis... I mean yes, exodus does have some great things going for it like costume design (except that of the character of the "tolits" kid there... grabe.. parang DBZ rip off... pero rip off na nga hindi pa nagawa ng matino... he looked like an amateur cosplayer inside an anime convention in hong kong.... the hair looked like it was just colored using spray paint... since they boasted of fine computer graphic imagery, then why did they not use it for this aspect? Another thing is that "tolits" also lacked training in fighting while strapped on tension wires... during the fight scenes he sort of looked so tense on air... he was swinging back and forth (which is quite annoying to look at actually. Next is the set design.. though some sets were so-so... some sets were like "what the hell is that?!!". One set looked like the inside of a trash can. While the hallways of the "big boss" (who quite incidentally whose name sounds like a sleazy one... bagulbol?....) were quite modest.. okay.. the hallways were just like that of a common house. I mean, where's the grandeur inside what is supposed to be a grand castle?!! the hallway was like 3 meters wide?!! and just 4 meters high... What's up with that?!!! and another thing is that, isn't it that evil is associated with the darkness, death and the like? Why are trees and flowers around the castle?!!! Isn't this quite awkward looking?
Then finally (well there are still a lot more but I'm getting tired of thingking of it more...) the obvious overuse of special effects... which made bong revilla look like a frog while jumping from area to area...
So all in all...I give it a 1.5 for effort... but since Iya looks great here.. I'll give it a 2.5!! hahahahaha un lang masasabi ko..
For Ako Legal Wife, it was an entertaining movie... summed up the jokes used here were not of the intellectual kind but more of the casual street "hirit".. which is in a way nice... although if you're a visayan... half of the jokes here won't appeal to you.. hahaha..
For this one I'll give it a 3.5... so it's worth your money to go and watch it...
Surprisingly.. while I was watching Legal wife, I noticed that the cinema was full.. well it's not that surprising to others but for me it's a big thing since I expected the cinema to be 3/4 full at most.. So that's the first time my hunch was wrong.. =P
