Descrimination
Doesn't anyone notice the descrimination in music nowadays? ..well, descrimination against rock music.. "true rock music, and also metal"... how is this so?
Notice how some bands get so little airplay/airtime on tv and on radio these days as opposed to how much time is given to these very irritating "artists" and their even more irritating "music" (if that's what you call their garbage). This is directly evident when you watch MYX LIVE. Why in the hell do they give a whole hour to some "manufactured artists" playing only cover songs for the whole hour and yet fit 2 or 3 bands in an hour who plays original stuff? aren't we supposed to support our own music? Aren't we supposed to support more those with real talent? I'm not sourgraping or anything but when I watch a band or an artist perform, I want to hear original stuff from them. It's alright if they play a cover or two, but the point is to showcase their stuff and not the work of another artist.
Anyway, another show that features this kind of descrimination is ROCK MYX. Why? Why? Why? They play rock music... sometimes, and sometimes they don't play them at all. Why play "seven days in sunny june" by jamiroquai on rock myx??? I like listening to jamiroquai and all but I wouldn't classify their music as "rock" since they are more on the jazzy side of music. If you've seen the show's commercial you would notice the heavy background music they use, but when you watch the show, you can almost hear none of it. As of now, in the new format of the show, I haven't seen videos of pantera, in flames, shadows fall, killswitch engage, ill nino and deftones. Considering that these bands are mainstream metal bands, it's a mystery why their videos aren't played here. The heaviest song they have played here was Before I Forget by slipknot (that's the only heavy song they have played since reformatting the channel). Since they are playing mostly alternative rock videos here, why not rename the show "Alternative-Rock MYX"? It would be less misleading to those watching the show. This come to show how much better the original MYX channel was (the one that had no subtitles in it, as they play all rock videos... well nearly all...)
Hey don't think that it's just myx that I am dissing here... MTV has got a lot of issues too. I mean, they've also got the "pop" syndrome on their rockola show. And what's more is when I got to watch this episode on Mad Tv, I came to notice that MTV wasn't the mtv Which I came to know back then. Why? As you may have noticed time alloted for playing videos have been shortened to make room for ~cough~a few~cough~ of their reality shows. I mean nowadays, almost everything shown on mtv are just "reality" shows. So this contributes more on the shortening air time for real rock videos...
No wonder a few bands opt to go mainstream, since little attention is just given to them.
